We have started this group for Christians involved in Business in Christchurch to gather together over breakfast several times a year and listen to interesting and challenging leaders reflect on their journeys. We want to not only learn from the speakers but also engage with and challenge each other to become better leaders ourselves.

Israel is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Buildtech Group, a national construction and development organisation with a mission to eradicate homelessness and build flourishing communities. It undertakes world class, innovative development projects throughout New Zealand and the world, which advance the cause of eradicating homelessness and seeing communities flourish and thrive. It achieves this through a committed and passionate group of people united by its common mission, and by doing everything in alignment with its values. Its commercial returns are invested back into its community projects and partner organisations which also focus on building flourishing families and communities.
Israel is also the Chairman of Parachute Music, which is a Charitable Trust that has a mission of influencing pop culture, and in particular music, for good. Parachute believes its can positively transform the world through influencing and developing artists who write, produce and perform powerful music that brings hope.
Prior to Buildtech Israel was the co-founder, CFO and Senior Vice President of Trigger Happy, a VC funded start-up which develops cutting edge software for content creators on mobile tablets. Trigger Happy’s first product Toon Hero was released worldwide in August 2013 and was subsequently acquired in late 2014.
Israel served as Director of Finance for Massive Software, whose Academy Award-winning technology is used for epic crowd scenes in feature films such as Avatar and Lord of the Rings. Prior to Massive, Israel spent five years as a finance and corporate strategy specialist at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he led the firm’s NZ Media & Entertainment practice. He has also held consulting positions at Silverstone Global.
Israel holds a Bachelor of Business Management in Marketing & Economics, a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours, is a full member of CPA Australia, and previously sat on the CPA New Zealand Council.
